This year’s march is women-only. We hope to be joined by cis-women, Trans women and non-binary people who identify that women’s spaces are right for them. Children (including boys up to age 14) are welcome. We recognise that women may have PAs or carers who are men and understand that in these circumstances, these men may need to join our women-only march to ensure equality of access to all women. We ask that all who support Reclaim the Night, respect our call for a women-only march.
The rally at the Baltic Square and the Frankie Raffles exhibition viewing are open to all and we welcome people of all genders to join us, this includes men and boys of all ages.
Full march route: meet at the Bigg Market 6pm. Start marching 6.15pm. Total distance 0.9 miles.

Following the rally, attendees will be able to pop into the Baltic to view the Frankie Raffles exhibition. Raffles was a feminist, activist, and social documentary photographer who documented the lives of women in the UK, predominantly in Scotland, but also across the world. Her photography focused attention on women’s lives and their work, addressing issues such as inequality, gendered violence, disability, activism and sisterhood. Raffles was the campaign photographer for Edinburgh’s original Zero Tolerance campaign in the 90’s, which remains one of the most influential and well-known campaigns on violence against women in Scotland.
This year’s event is being delivered by the TUC Northern Women’s Group in collaboration with:

– West End Women and Girls Centre
– It Happens Here – Newcastle
– Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland
– The Angelou Centre
– Kim McGuiness, North East Mayor
– Newcastle City Council
