Discovery Nights International Women’s Day

Inspired by International Woman’s Day, this after-hours Discovery Nights: Wonder Women event celebrates remarkable women from the North East, with an evening of talks, activities, live music, historical objects and archives, bar and food.
Be the first to see Discovery Museum’s exciting new acquisition, the costume worn by actor Brenda Blethyn as TV’s eponymous Vera, the North East detective created by author Ann Cleeves – who will also join us for a short reading and Q & A.
With bite-size talks on trailblazing engineer Rachel Parsons and wartime wonder Dr Irene Ighodaro, there’ll also be live music, proggy mat making all topped off with a performance by the The bangshees.
A chance to mingle and meet, or chill and stroll through the museum dipping in and out of activities, to enjoy the museum at night and kick back.
